Equipment Tips!
2019-07-02What size bat do I need? What size glove? What other equipment do I need? A few tips for getting your player ready.
Every year we get lots of questions about player equipment. Here are some tips that we hope will help.
Q: What equipment does my child need to play?
A: At a minimum, your child needs a glove & a protective cup (jock/jill). The league will provide helmets and bats to share.
Many people do purchase other items for their player such as a helmet, bat, batting gloves, and cleats. (Metal cleats are not permitted in House League.) These items all optional.
Every player will be provided with a full uniform of hat, jersey, pants and socks that is theirs to keep.
Q: What size bat and glove should my child have?
A: There are a lot of variables that go into determining this including, your child's age, height, weight, wing span, and skill level. Most baseball equipment companies will post a chart on their website with the recommended sizes.
Canadian Tire has a handy chart you can refer to here:

Q: Where is the best place to buy equipment?
A: That is really up to you. Most sporting good stores have adequate equipment for sale. EYBA purchases its equipment from Eagle Beaver Sports (Birchmount & Warden). Let them know you are playing at EYBA!
