2023 - EYBA Update - Spring Training & Evaluations - 9U Select Tryouts & More

Hi EYBA Families,
We are 1 week away from the 2023 Season! We tend to have a higher number of communications this time of year, so please read over all this information carefully. It will also be posted on the website.
Mandatory Evaluations and Spring Training Schedule
Beginning the week of May 1st, players will begin to attend their mandatory evaluation night, on their regular house league night. All house league players are required to attend one evaluation night prior to being placed on a team. For evaluations only, players are divided by last name simply for numbers. Contact your convenor if you cannot make your designated time.
All house league activities take place at Stan Wadlow Park. We will begin each night at 6:30pm for all divisions except 15U & 18U, which will begin at 8:30pm. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early so that we can be ready to go on time.
Those who volunteered to coach & assistant coach, your convenors will be in touch directly to discuss the drills and evaluation plan. Convenors will also reach out to request more volunteers. Please consider getting involved. It’s more fun when you are in the game!

** NOTE for 13U – Please see updated schedule as we have realigned the evaluations to 2 groups.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can be ready to go on time. Be sure to bring your glove, helmet & bat and to wear your jock!

Time: 6:30pm – 8:15pm (U15/U18: 8:30pm – 10:00pm)
Teams
Once ALL evaluations are complete, the convenors will form the teams and advise the coaches, who will in turn advise their players. You will then be able to view your team schedule on the website.
Spring Training & Exhibition Games – End of evaluations through May 25th
Barring any more weather issues requiring rescheduling of the above, the exhibition schedule on the website will be followed for all teams. This schedule will be posted soon.
The teams in the 6U thru 9U divisions will have organized practices/fun games during these exhibition game times.
All other divisions will have exhibition games scheduled.
YES – There will be games scheduled on May 22nd.
9U Select Tryouts – NOTE: Sunday Time Change
Attention - 8U & 9U EYBA Families
The 9U Select Spring Tryouts - This tryout has been MOVED to the MLS Dome due to the forecasted rain for Saturday, April 29th.
A second tryout, if needed, will be announced at the end of the first tryout.
Location: MLS Dome (St. Clair & Danforth Rd.)
641 Danforth Rd, Scarborough, ON M1K 1G1, Canada
Date: Saturday, April 29 @ 8:00-10:00am
Players need to attend the first tryout & be prepared to attend the second tryout.
Please register for the tryout here. This is only to plan for attendance.
NOTE: The tryouts are only open to players currently registered for EYBA House League.
Weather & Field Updates
We will NOT be sending email blasts for weather updates. We will post weather updates on the website ticker & on Twitter. We will attempt to update the website by 5:00pm for weeknight house league games. Of course, weather conditions can be unpredictable. What may look good or bad at 5:00pm can change quickly. In these cases, we will make every attempt to update the website in a timely manner.
Sponsorship
Thanks to all those businesses who are sponsoring a house league team this year. We have many house league team sponsorships still available. The sponsorship rate is $500/team. For this, we will place your company name on the back of a set of team jerseys, place your company logo on our website, and promote your business via our social media pages to all the wonderful families that participate in our amazing league.
