EYBA 2022 House League Season Update

Hello EY Baseball Families!

Well, the snow we had recently doesn’t make it seem like baseball season is around the corner, but the Blue Jays off to a hot start certainly does. Your EYBA executive has been busy getting ready for another season of baseball at Stan Wadlow Park. We are excited to get back to our usual routine of spring training, exhibition games, Opening Day, and a great season to follow! We are also planning on having our Snack Bar up and running again this year.

Mandatory Evaluations and Spring Training Schedule

Beginning in the first week of May, players will attend their mandatory evaluation night. All house league players are required to attend one evaluation night prior to being placed on a team. These evaluations are scheduled on your regular house league night and players are divided by last name simply for numbers. Everything takes place at Stan Wadlow Park. We will begin each night at 6:30pm for all divisions except 18U, which will begin at 8:30pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can be ready to go on time.

Those who volunteered to coach & assistant coach, your convenors will be in touch directly to discuss the drills and evaluation plan. We will also be reaching out to request more volunteers. Please consider getting involved. It's more fun when you are in the game!

(U18 - 8:30pm – 10:00pm)

 Please arrive about 15 minutes early so we can be organized and ready to go on time. Be sure to bring your glove, helmet & bat and wear your jock!

Spring Training & Exhibition Games

May 16^th - May 26^rd

Barring any weather issues requiring rescheduling of the above, the 6U and 7U divisions will have organized practices which the coaches will be supported in leading; the 8U and 9U divisions will have organized practices the first week and exhibition games the second week; all other divisions will have exhibition games scheduled both weeks.

We plan to hand out uniforms on each team’s first game/practice during the week of May 16th. Yes, there are games scheduled for May 23^rd!
 

Registration

We have a few spots still open in 18U.
 

9U Second Team Select Tryouts

Our Select tryouts and team selection took place in the fall for all teams except our second 9U team. Players must be registered in 8U or 9U to try out for this team. The tryouts are as follows: May 7 @ 12-2pm – Diamond 7 & School Field; & May 8 @ 9-11am – Diamond 7 & School Field.
