Final Wrap Up on the 2022 Season & 2023 News!

Update from the EYBA president about 2022 Season and News for the 2023 Season.
Hi East York Baseball Families,
As we get ready to begin the 2023 Season, we would like to share a final wrap up on the 2022 Season as well as 2023 news & invitations to volunteer.
Thanks to all that attended the Annual General Meeting held Sunday Oct 30th, 2022. I want to take a moment to highlight some discussion points and encourage people to reach out if they have any questions or concerns. Draft minutes will be posted on the website soon.
The 2022 season, our 70th year as a club, saw a return to PRE Covid measures and regular baseball operations. We hosted both Opening and Closing Days as we have in the past, and we were able to once again operate our beloved snack bar. We had a full and robust House League Program with 780 participants registered on 52 teams. We also had a record number of rep teams and our select program was as successful and full as it has always been. East York Baseball is the envy of the Toronto Baseball Association.
The club was able to post a net profit after 2 years of deficits. Currently the club has funds to pay for some of the capital improvements that the city has partnered with us, namely the extended outdoor batting cage and the replacement of the fencing and rebuild of Diamond 4 in time for the 2023 season. Look to see work on the rest of the diamonds to improve their quality in the spring of 2023 as well. We are happy to say House League fees will remain the same for 2023.
On that note, registration for the 2023 season will be as follows:
Returning Players – Monday, Nov. 14 @ 6:00pm
Open for all – Monday, Nov. 21 @ 6:00pm
Our league is only possible with the wonderful efforts of members in our community that volunteer along side us. Your dedication ensures the East York community is richer for having a strong baseball association as an anchor for our youth. We are seeking more volunteers to assist us and join our team of dedicated executive. We also have a few vendor positions that we are asking for people to present a proposal to assist us next season.
Convenors:
We are looking for a convenor to assist us in running the 6U & 7U divisions in the house league program. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the teams are formed fairly and to assist in the running of their division throughout the season. If interested, please contact Craig Colby (VP of House League) at the following email craigcolby6@gmail.com.
Snack Bar Assistant Co-ordinator:
The snack bar at East York is the crown jewel of our operation and its existence is what allows the club to maintain the fields, pay for umpires and ensures our registration fees are kept as low as possible. Our coordinator, Monica, is looking for an assistant co-ordinator to assist in the running of its operation. This is a part time vendor position. If this is something that interests you, please contact Monica at peters_m2000@hotmail.com for more information.
General Manager:
We are currently asking for applications to join our organization in the capacity of General Manager. This is a part time vendor position. The role reports directly to the league President and is responsible to ensuring all operations of the association are handled in a timely manner. Main responsibilities involve permit and insurance applications, roster submission and tournament organization. Interested parties please contact Michael Clarke at 01coachmike@gmail.com. Submissions due by Dec 1st 2022.
Sponsorship Coordinator:
The low cost for house league is only possible through the generosity of the community and we are always grateful for their support. We currently looking for a new sponsorship coordinator to join our team and assist us in once again securing the sponsorship needed for a successful season. This is a part time vendor role and any interested parties should contact Michael Clarke at 01coachmike@gmail.com Submissions are due by Dec 1st 2022.
