| More About the Program None of the head coaches have children on any of the teams. Midget (U18) – Mark Ireland In order to have their release guaranteed players must live within the boundaries of The Toronto Baseball Association, Eastern Ontario Baseball Association, York Simcoe, Central Ontario Baseball Association and the Greater Niagara Baseball Association. If a player lives in the EOBA a release must be obtained from the player’s local association and the EOBA before being eligible to try out for the Toronto Cardinal program. We are proud affiliates of the Toronto Baseball Association (TBA), the Baseball Ontario Association and the Elite League of Ontario We have established an off-season development program that is second to none. The conditioning program begins the 1st of November and runs through to the end of April. Baseball specific training begins in early January. We conduct our off season development program at Variety Village, a high performance training facility. Our baseball specific conditioning program is headed up by:
In order to offer the maximum amount of post high school exposure to our 15 – 18 year old players, the U.S. tournaments are selected on basis of profile within the college and university community. For those wishing to attend American schools, a video and mechanical profile will be produced that can be emailed to the coaches of the school teams the players wish to attend. Given the age of the players (U.S. schools can’t approach 15 and 16 year olds), the focus for the bantam and minor midget teams will be geared more toward development and playing higher calibre games than exposure to the U.S. We will enter the teams in high profile and AAA tournaments. There will be one or two away tournaments outside of the GTA for the minor midget and midget teams, but generally (with keeping costs down in mind) our games will be within the 416 and 905 area codes. A budget will be presented to the parents prior to the off season program beginning and a final cost sheet will be provided once the season is complete illustrating where their money was spent. It is a High Performance Program without the high cost of private “for profit” programs.
